In The Mean Time

Acts 1:1-9

There  is no question about our blessed Lord Jesus  being raised from the dead, nor is there any question in my mind that he ascended back to heaven as the Bible teaches he did and by all means I believe he is soon to return to earth as the many Scriptures teaches. There are 318 different references in the Scriptures that tell of his return. I have often said that Christ is soon going to come or call, so be ready for we know not when he will come. Matthew 24:42.

There seems to be some different opinions  about what we should be doing in the meantime .

There are at least three questions that come to mind about the way the time between Christ going back to the Father  and his 2nd  coming should be spent.

How should we be living during this time?

What should we be doing during this time?

What kind of plans should we be making during this time?

How should we be living?

Jesus told us in  John 17:16; We are not of this world, even as he is not of this world. Friends the faster we learn that this life we are living  here one earth is but a few days the better off we will be. The Psalmist in Psalms 90:10 tells us our life is three scores (60) and ten and if by strength we make four scores (80) It is soon cut off and we fly away.

You will never please everyone with your life style, however if we please the Lord we will please some of his people. Let's stop worrying about what others think and say lets try to please the Lord.

What should we be doing during this time?

The Bible says in Matthew 6:20 to lay up treasurers in heaven where rust and moth don't corrupt and where thieves don't break through and steal.

Far too many people are trying to secure the future when it only folds under them at the time of need. We should take care of what we have and we need to plan for the future with heaven in mind and send some treasurers  ahead of us.

The Bible also teaches us that our works do follow us. Revelations 14:13. We are saved by grace but our works are a reflection of the change we have experienced.

Once we start our heavenly account even after we go home to be with the Lord our dividends keep coming in.

What kind of plans should we be making during this time?

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 29:18; Where there is no vision, the people perish: A church, A family or an individual that has no vision will very quickly  dissolve.

We plan for many things and it is very important to carry out the plans we make. You have heard it said that a quitter never wins and a winner never quits. The church needs plans, the family needs plans only be sure to include the Lord in your plans.

I believe the Lord has some wonderful plans for each of his children. The friends we choose, the schools we attend, yes even the work we do we need to consult the Lord about before we start the job. There are some jobs we don't need to be working in. Ask yourself, would I want to be doing this work when Jesus comes?

Don't forget, In the meantime must be answered for somewhere down the road. We shall all give account of the life we have lived, whether it be good or bad.

All Christians will stand at the judgement seat of Christ not to determine if we are saved. That was taken care of when we accepted Christ. 2nd Corinthians 5:10.. that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The Great White Throne Judgement is waiting for the unsaved. Rev. 20:12; And I saw the dead, small and great stand before God. and the books were opened: and another book was opened which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Acts 1:11 tells us; this same Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.

My question is; Would you be satisfied to see Jesus return as you are now or is there some things you would like to correct before he comes?

Is there any forgiveness you need to give to someone? Is there any hard feelings you need to put away?

Friends, I nor any one else know when our Lord will return. This only do I know, He is soon going to come or call.

Ask Christ to come into your heart now and you can be ready when he calls or comes.
