A STONE, A STICK AND A BONE
1st Corinthians 1: 26-31

What power could a stone have over a sword and shield? What power could a new bone have over a large group of men and what power could a stick have over an army of horses and chariots?
It all depends whose hands they are in and who is guiding the hands.
The stone in the hand of a young shepherd boy guided by the hand of God brought down a nine foot giant with all his armor.
In the book of 1st. Samuel chapter 17; we find the answer. The giant Goliath and all his armor found that a stone was more powerful when it was in the hands of a person led by the Lord, the God of Israel.
David said in verse 45; you come to me with a sword, a spear and with a shield, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of host, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defiled. Later he said, for the battle is the Lord's and he will deliver you into my hands.
David put his hand into his bag, took out a stone and slang it and it went into the forehead of the giant and he fell upon the earth. David took the giants own sword and beheaded him with it and the enemies of Israel fled.
A jawbone of a donkey was used by Samson to slay a thousand men and later the Lord let water come from the bone to give Samson a drink of water.
Samson did what all people today should do when the Lord does something for them. He give credit to the Lord where it belonged. In Judges 15:18 he said; You have given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant.

Moses was ask in Ex. 4:2  of the Lord, What is that in your hand? Moses replied, a rod. ( a stick ) The Lord said, cast it down on the ground and it become a serpent and Moses fled  from it.

The Lord said put fourth you hand and take it up and it become a (stick) rod in his hands. This rod was with Moses all the time he was in Egypt.
Moses cast the rod down in front of Pharaoh and it become a serpent and Pharaoh had his magicians to cast their rods down and they also become a serpent, however Moses rod ate the rods of the Magicians. The plagues begin to trouble the Egyptians until finally an awesome thing took place. " It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of God." The Lord told Moses to have the children of Israel to take the blood of a lamb and place it on the two side post and over the top of the door for that night he was going to slay the first born of all of Egypt, from the least to the greatest  who had not the blood applied to their house.
As Israel is told to leave Egypt and go to the Promise Land they come to the Red sea. Here they have the sea before them and the armies of Egypt coming upon them, Moses said;  in Exodus 14:13; stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show unto you today.
Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and Israel went through the sea on dry ground and when the army of Egypt started through they were drowned. There are those who say the water was not very deep in that area. How does a horse and his rider in a chariot drown in shallow water? I understand the water was from twenty to forty feet deep. God parted the water and there was a wall of water on both sides held back by the hand of God.
Let me ask you a question. What do you have in your hands? Are you one who says, I can't teach and I can't preach, I can't do this or that.
Let's turn this around and say there are some things I can do and with the help of the Lord I will use the talent he has given me. There is no one that can do what you can do, the way you do it. All that we do let's do in the name of Jesus and leave the results up to him.
I'm sure that a simple stick, a stone and a bone doesn't appear to be very much, but in the right hands great things can happen.
Why not begin today allowing Christ Jesus to give you the direction we all must have to live a life pleasing to the Lord?
