A Need For A Savior

Gen. 3:8-13

As I watch the religion of the world I see that many people are trying to please someone or something with the way they dress, live, look or act.

There are those who wear strange looking clothes, some wear a shawl draped over their shoulders, some wear cloth wrapped around their head, some disfigure their face with tattoos, some climb ladders on their knees and some even hang themselves with meat hooks in their flesh suspended in the air. On and on you see people trying to gain favor with some kind of being.

This is really saying that man has a need in his life, that he is trying to fill the void in some way by his own self.

The writer of Ecclesiastes 12:8 tells us, "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity." He seems to be troubled with the cares of life for he had all the material things life could afford only to come up empty as all of mankind has done when he leaves the Creator out of his life.

The first man, Adam, let sin come into his life and he was never permitted to enter back into the perfect peace God intended for him.

Man has tried every way he knows to return to God but man must return to his Creator by the  one and only plan that God Himself has given to return to him.

Why does man try so hard to return to God by himself? In 2nd Kings 5:13 a young man said, My father, if the prophet had bid you to do some great thing you would have done it, how much rather then, when he said wash and be clean, do as he said.

Romans 10:13 says whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Why then does man try so hard to do it his way by works when the Bible says for by grace are you saved, not of works lest any man should boast.

We want to do things our own way only to come up short.

When man comes to the place of saying I cannot save myself and I know that God has made provisions for me to be saved when Christ gave his life for me at Calvary. When Jesus said it is finished, the price of my salvation was paid in full. This simply means there is nothing man can add to the plan of salvation other than saying, Dear Lord Jesus I thank you for my salvation you paid for me when you hung on the cross at Calvary.

Jesus said in John 10:28, And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand, my Father which gave them me is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Jesus said, My Father which gave them Me. Jesus is our security.

There are many scriptures that tells us that we are eternally secure. You should read the total Book of John and then read his letters and see the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

Paul in Romans  6:23 is very clear when he says the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
