LET US ASSEMBLE TOGETHER

Joshua .18;1

There is something special about the children of God assembling together. There are times they gather for war, sometimes for peace, sometimes for refreshments of body and soul.

There are several records of the children of God coming together.
Moses in Exodus 12 assembled the people and told them to prepare themselves and their family for a very serious time to come. God was getting ready to punish the people of Egypt so God's people had to have the blood applied over their door post and lintel of their home for safety. Jesus' blood, the "Lamb of God", must be applied to our life for God is one day going to punish this earth.

Elijah in I Kings 18:21 called the people of God together and told them to choose who they were to serve. He said, How long halt ye between two opinions. If the Lord be God, follow Him, but if Baal, then follow him. The greatest need I see today is for people to make up their minds who they are going to serve.

Joshua in 24:15 said if it seem evil to you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve. But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. The people said God forbid that we forsake the Lord to serve other gods.

The disciples were assembled in Luke 24:26, as they spoke Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them and said unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

They were assembled together in one accord in Acts 2:1-4 when the Holy Spirit came. Notice in verse 1 they were all with one accord in one place. We are to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews .10:25). There is strength when we come together in prayer, fellowship and Bible study. There is going to be a great assembling of all of God's people some time in the future.

I Thessalonians. 4:13-18 tells us of the time when the dead in Christ shall come forth and we shall all meet the Lord in the air.

The saddest assembling that will ever be is found in Matthew 25:32-33 and Rev. 20:11-15. Matthew 25:32-33 tells us: And before Him shall be gather all nations, and He shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. He shall set the sheep on his right hand but the goats on the left.

Rev .20:11-15 tells us: And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works.

Friends judgment is coming to each of us, are we ready?
