Resurrection of the Dead

Rev .20:4-6

An intelligent person knows there is something more than just a few years here on earth, to the life we live. The non-Christian world spends much time seeking after some kind of life after death. It makes sense to me to go to the true source of life and learn about life and death. Our Creator built within each of us a desire to live and search for life.

From the very beginning man was given life and only one thing has changed. Romans 5:12 tells us: Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for they all have sinned. Sin is the poison that is in the life of every one of us. You ask, why is there so much evil, hatred, crime, and mistrust in the world? The answer for all the ills of this world can be found in SIN.

The Bible, God's Holy word, has many things to say about life after death. Job 14:14-15: If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shall call and I shall answer thee. 1st Corinthians. 15:51 tells us: We shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall all be changed. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians .5:6-8: While we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

The Psalmist in Psalm 90:10 tells us: Our life is three score and ten and if by strength four score for it is soon cut off and we fly away. The last book in the Bible, Rev. 14:13 tells us: Blessed are they that die in the Lord henceforth; yea,   say the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.

Is there a judgment when we leave this world? Hebrews. 9:27-28 tells us: It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment. Romans 14:10 tells us: We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Rev. 20:4-6 points out the saved people are going to live and reign with Christ for a thousand years before the rest of the dead are resurrected. In verse 6, he says: Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection; on such the second death hath no power.

You say, Preacher, how can I be sure I will be in the first resurrection? Be sure you are born again before you leave this world. Don't let anything or anybody come between you and the Lord. There is not a person alive worth you losing your soul for. Jesus came all the way from glory to redeem us and 1 Corinthians. 6:20 tells us: We are bought with a price and my friend that price is none other than the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The beauty of life is everyone of us can be saved, we can have eternal life, we can enjoy this life here on earth and when we leave here there is a home waiting for us. However the choice is yours and mine. You can choose Jesus Christ and live eternally or you can let the devil blind you and you will spend eternity separated from God.

A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord Jesus I know I am lost and I want you to come into my heart and save me and make me ready to go to Heaven when I die. I believe there is a resurrection of the dead and I want to spend eternity in your presence with all the saved of all ages. I pray this prayer in Jesus Name. Amen.
