The Indwelling Spirit

John. 14:16-17

God's Holy Spirit in us, is our guarantee that we are more than just religious people.

There are many religions today, but religion apart from the indwelling Spirit of God only makes you a slave to someone else's idea.

The Spirit of God dwelling in us sets us free from bondage. Paul said in I Corinthians 3:16, know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? Know you not that your body is the Temple (dwelling place) of the Spirit of God. The most damaging thing on earth is religion apart from the Spirit of God.

When God's Holy Spirit lives in us we have power to overcome the trials of life.

I have said two people can get things done much more easily than one person trying to work by himself.

Paul said, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Our strength comes to us when we are being led by God's Holy Spirit. We become over comers, not overcome. We become achievers, not failures. We become people who know who we are, where we come from and we know where we are going when we leave this life, not as people groping in darkness wondering what kin they are to the monkey or ape. We become people who know that the animal kingdom was created by our heavenly Father as well as all the other things on earth and we know God gave man dominion over all his creation for man was created by God Himself and was made a little lower than the angels. Psalms 8:3-9 When we are indwelled by God's Holy Spirit we know the future is in God's care and keeping.

Many people today are having panic attacks and running to and from one place to another trying to find a reason for it all when the answer to life's deepest needs are found at the feet of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, Come unto me all you that are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me.

Christ never sets you free to wander around aimlessly but you learn His way and find your purpose in life.

As His Spirit dwells in us He teaches us daily the things we need to know.

There are a few people of the world that has personal tutors to teach them. Every child of God has his/her own angel to watch over them and the Spirit to lead them through life.

You say, Pastor, I need the kind of help you are talking about. It begins by you, where you are. Inviting Christ to come into your life and begin to live your life as his Spirit directs.

There are untold blessings waiting for those who are in Jesus Christ. Yes, there will be some trials and all mankind lost or saved has trials, but you and I have a helper to assist us in each trial we face and we always come out the winner.

As we are led by the indwelling Spirit of God we become more confident each day in what we do.

The joy of the Lord is for those who let Jesus be first in their lives.
