HOW JESUS CAME

Mt. 1:18-23

The how Jesus came is vitally important to the salvation of mankind. there is only one Jesus, there is only one Savior, there is none other that deserves the praise of being our Redeemer.

The prophets of old tell us how Jesus came. Isaiah 7:14, Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel. Matthew 1:23 tells us Emmanuel being interpreted is "God with us". The virgin birth is essential for the Lord Jesus to be Savior, without it Jesus would just be man. He was man but He was also God in the flesh. John 1:1-14 tells us The Word was God and the Word was made flesh and dwelled among us and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

The angels told of His birth:

Mary was told, Luke 1:26-38. And in the sixth month, Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph. Joseph was told by the angel of the Lord, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

The shepherds were told by angels. Luke 2:8-20, There were shepherds in the same country abiding in the fields and keeping watch by night over their flock and behold an angel of the Lord stood by them and the glory shone around them , and they feared with great fear, and the angel said to them; fear not, for behold I proclaim glad tidings of great joy to you which shall be to all people, for there was born to you today, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

The Universe told of his birth: Wise men came from the East to Jerusalem, saying where is he that is born King of the Jews for we have seen his star in the East and are come to worship Him. Matthew 2:2

The Disciples told of His being here. John 1:10-12, he was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name.

There is something different about the name of Jesus. I hear men of all levels of education and position say without hesitation, "I love the Name of Jesus." The prophet and statesman Isaiah called Him Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace. We look around us today and see many in their own way saying the name of Jesus is very special to me.

Ask a person that has had a real experience with Jesus to share what he means to them. Every experience I have ever heard of has been one of beauty. The Apostles said He was the Son of God. Peter in his profession of faith said, you are the Son of God. Matthew 16:13-17.

The angels declared him to be the Savior. Luke 2:10-11
