WE HAVE SEEN THE LORD

John 20:18-31

Of all the subjects ever taught in the Bible, the subject of the resurrection from the dead is more plainly taught by each writer than any other subject dealt with. Each of the writers of the gospel went into detail concerning our Lord Jesus being raised from the dead. No other  subject is so clear as the resurrection.

No other religion on the face of the earth makes the claim that their Savior has died, was buried and was resurrected. The Moslems say Mohammed is dead and is buried, but do not claim he is resurrected. The Buddhist doesn't claim that Buddha is alive. There is but one true and living God and we only come to know Him through and by his Son Jesus Christ.

We as Christians claim Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. The Bible teaches that Jesus was raised from the dead. God's Holy Spirit living and dwelling within the hearts of all true born again believers bears witness that  Jesus was raised from the dead.

It was needful that our Lord Jesus die as he did, Luke 24:46, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to raise from the dead the third  day John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Romans 5:8, But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus was resurrected in body, not spirit only. The 24th chapter of Luke gives us a very clear description of how the Lord Jesus was raised from the dead. Luke 24:38, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and feet that it is I myself. Handle me, and see for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as you see me have. Verse 41, Have you here any meat? And they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and of a honey comb and He took it and did eat before them. Verse 45, Then He opened their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures. Has he opened your understanding?

There are those that believe the Lord Jesus was not raised from the dead, and there are those of us that believe He was raised from the dead.

Some reasons I believe He was raised: The Bible says so This is enough for me There are other reasons. Nature teaches us there is a resurrection. Look around you today. The lost person that is saved by believing the account, our forefathers all died, many of them believing the Lord has risen. I remember my father singing, "I was lost and undone without God or His Son, then He reached down for me."

Paul said if Christ had not died and rose again then all is vain, but thanks be to God, He did die and rise again.

I know he has risen because he said the Comforter won't come unless I go. John 16:3-8. I have seen the Lord change men into new creatures by His power. Blessed are they that believe and have not seen. John 20:29
