SING UNTO THE LORD

Ex. 15:1-2

The children of Israel sang unto the Lord songs about what the Lord had done for them. One of the first songs they sang was, He hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. They sang about what the Lord had done for them. The Lord is my strength and song. He is become my salvation; He is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God and I will exalt him.

What about today? Should we sing about what the Lord has done for us? Up Calvary's mountain one dreadful morning walked Christ my savior, weary and worn, facing for sinners death on the cross, that he might save them from endless loss. What a wonderful expression of his love for us that the King of Glory would give his life that I could have eternal life. That same song continues; Father forgive them thus did he pray, In while his life-blood flowed fast away; Praying for sinners while in such woe, no one but Jesus ever loved so.

Let's sing the song; Low in the grave he lay; Jesus my savior! Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave he arose, With a might triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, And he lives forever with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! hallelujah! Christ arose!

When you and I are born of the Spirit of God we know he lives for he lives in us.

What about that song; What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought, Since Jesus came into my heart. I have light in my soul for which long I had sought, Since Jesus came into my heart. Floods of joy o'er my soul like the sea billows roll, Since Jesus came into my heart.

Do you and I remember and share with others the day Jesus became real to us?

The song: I heard an old, old story, how a savior came from glory, How he gave his life on Calvary to save a wretch like me; I heard about his groaning, of his precious blood's atoning Then I repented of my sins and won the victory, is a testimony of many people today. There are millions that will tell you they have been saved and are sure when death comes they will spend eternity in heaven.

There is one song that bothers me; Must Jesus bear the cross alone and all the world go free; No there is a cross for everyone and there is a cross for me.

Today the challenge to every Christian is to find God's will for their lives and allow the Spirit of God to give direction for each of us.

Each of us has a cross to bear and each of us should have a song in our heart to sing of his redeeming power in our lives.

Matthew 28:19-20 reflects the song we all need to hear; Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and every where; Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

Friends we no longer need to look for the savior, he is here and the Bible says he shall save his people from their sins.

Join with the redeemed and let's sing; Because He Lives
