THE TEN MIRACLES OF GOD (PLAGUES)

Ex. 7:10-13 -- Chapter 11

The 7th chapter through chapter 11 of Exodus begins to show the judgments of God upon Egypt that needs to show all the world that God has the final word in the affairs of mankind.

The ten plagues were aimed at the gods of Egypt, and were designed to give proof of the power of the God of Israel over the gods of the Egyptians.

Where do you suppose that the Egyptians ever got the idea to worship as they did? Egypt worshiped many strange things. A bull was their chief god. This was one of the reasons Moses said Israel must go out of Egypt to sacrifice unto the Lord God of Israel.

Egypt worshiped  many false gods; the bull, the cow, a vulture, their sky god was a falcon, the sun god was a hawk, their god of the east frontier was a crocodile, the god of the dead was a goat; Isis, his wife, was a cow; the god of intelligence was an ape. Heka, a goddess by a frog, a goddess of the south was a serpent, Nile river was sacred, Bast was a cat as well as many other gods. The waters of their sacred river Nile was turned to blood. There was no fresh water to be found. They worshiped the frog and every where they went there was frogs. In their bed chambers, and upon their beds and in their kneading troughs where their bread was made. Moses asked Pharaoh when he wanted the frogs removed and in chapter 8:10 he said tomorrow. (What about now?) Many people plan to be saved but there seems to be a lot that wants one more night with the frogs. Lice were everywhere on man and animals. Next came the flies and many today still know the annoyance of flies.

Murrain is a cattle disease that caused many cattle to die. Boils broke out on man and beast throughout all Egypt.

Exodus 9:13-21; is something I call the "Mid Term Exam." The Lord told Moses to rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say unto him, "Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go that they may serve me." In verse 16, he said, "For this cause have I raised you up for to show you my power." ." Pharaoh you are a puppet in God's hands "

Verse 18-19, the Lord said, "I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail such as has not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even unto now; Send therefore now and gather your cattle and all that thou has in the field. For upon every man and beast that are found in the field, hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die." He  that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses and he that  regarded not the word of the Lord did not. What would you have done? The hail came mingled with fire, and friend judgment is also coming.

The locusts and darkness followed, bringing its grief and fear to Egypt. However, the final blow of all is about to happen to Egypt that will change the life of two nations and the lives of untold millions to come.

The loss of the first born to Egypt.

The Applied Blood for the Israelites brought safety.
