MY HEARTS DESIRE

Romans 10:1

Did you ever think that every one has a hearts desire? Some people have good desires for their fellowman and some seem to have very selfish and cruel desires for others.

The Lord shows his children many things that the world and some of the prophets never heard or seen.

For I tell you, that many  prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them. Luke 10:24

Psalms 112:8 Tells us the righteous shall see his desire on his enemy. What is your desire for your enemies? "My desire for my enemies is that they would come to know the joy of the Lord in their hearts."

The desire of the slothful kills him, for his hand refuse to labor. He covets  greedily all day long   " but the righteous gives  and spares not. Proverbs 21:25 "

The fear of The Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether, More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Then in verse 14 of chapter 19 the psalmist said; Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Paul had a desire that  his people the Israelites might be saved.

He even went so far as to say that he could wish that he himself was accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.

Philippians 1:23 tells us;  For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart and be with  Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

What are some desires you and I should have?

1- Grow as Christians: As new born babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow  thereby. 1 Peter 2:2.

2- Learn to live as a Christian should: I don't know about you but I did not get saved one day and the next morning wake up a full grown Christian. I have been a Christian since 1964 and I still need to grow. I have trials that I some time don't know how to handle and I am still like a child that must run  to my Father for guidance.

3-Learn to bring others to Christ: From the day I was saved I have had a desire to see others come to the Lord, however I had to learn how to share the plan of salvation with those I talked with. "The Roman Road has been an approach that I have been comfortable with."

What are our desires for our church,  our pastor and church leaders, our missionaries?

Do we have a desire to see our family and friends saved? It might be we need to get a good look at what .happens to a person who leaves this life without The Lord Jesus living in their heart.

Jesus said I was hungry and you fed me, in prison and you visited me, naked and you clothed  me. Matthew 25:35-36.
