LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEW?

Revelations 21:1

During this time of the year there are many people that are looking for something new.

We hear some talk of the new church, the new pastor, the new car, the new clothes, the new home  or a new place we want to visit. All of this has a way of exciting  us for a little while and then we start over looking for something else new.

There is a new city I would like to tell you about that will take you an eternity to visit and get acquainted with.

This city measures 12,000 furlongs, the length, breadth and height are equal. There are eight furlongs to a mile. That means that the height, length and breadth of the city are 1,500 miles each way.

This city has "twelve foundations" or floors, each being separated by a distance of 125 miles. The second floor would be out of sight to the natural eye. (The average eye can see no farther than 17 miles on water, then the sky and water seems to run together) Each floor or foundation or level has the name of one of the twelve Apostles written on it. It is hard to comprehend just how immense the heavenly city really is.

Here are a few figures to give you a slight estimate of its magnitude. If you could divide the city into rooms one mile in length, one mile high and one mile wide  it would contain 3,375,000,000 rooms, each room would contain the space of one cubit mile.

One of the most astonishing features about such a place is the time it would require to visit or go over that city visiting each room separately.

If you were to begin at the creation of Adam and go through the city spending one hour in each room for twenty four hours a day, at the end of 6,000 years you would have visited 52,570,560 rooms, leaving 3,322,529,440 rooms yet unvisited. Calculated in this are all the leap years that occurred in 6,000 years, deducting the century year when there is no leap year.

What a city, no mortal mind can comprehend nor describe in human language the splendor of that city. The Jasper stone, clear as crystal, the Sapphire, Emerald, Topaz, Beryl and all the precious stones in their most glorious description are but faint comparisons when taken in relations to the glory of the city that is to come. The walls of the city are Jasper, the city streets are pure gold.

No wonder John describes it as a bride adorned for her husband. This is just the city. There is enough to be seen in that city for eternity. God's people will not be confined to the city. We are told that there are gates on the east, west, north and south. God's people will have perfect liberty to examine  the wonders of His universe. God's promise to us is, He will continually show unto us the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

How would you like to live in that city? Many might say the cost would be too much. For man kind it would be totally out of reach. However a very special friend of mine named Jesus has given a deed to as many as would receive it.

You can have an eternal home in this city by allowing the builder of this city to give you  your own  residence.

The application for residence is really very simple. You can answer each question by a simple yes or no.                                                                        Check one
