ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER

John 10:27-29

One of the most misunderstood subjects in the Scriptures is the subject of Eternal Security of the Believer.

In order to answer this question you need first to decide if you are a believer or not.

A question I must ask is, Can a person believe something and then stop believing what you know is the truth.?

There are many portions of Scripture that tells us a person that is in Christ has eternal life.

How long is eternal? John 3:16 tell us For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. How long is everlasting?

Jesus said in John 10:28; I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand

John 3:5 Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again. ( not again and again )

He said there is a physical birth and a spiritual birth. Once you are born you don't get unborn.

I have 4 children that have been born to my wife and me. They were only born to us one time and they are ours whether they be good or bad.

It appears to me that we need to be more concerned about letting our lives please the Lord and do his will and show our love for him for what he has done for us instead of looking for ways of becoming unsaved after we are saved.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17 it tells us; if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. How do you undo what Christ has done? Ecclesiastes 3:14 tells us whatsoever God doeth it shall be forever. Nothing can be put to it nor anything taken from it.

There are some things that happen when you become a born again believer.

Romans 8:9 tells us: Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his. Do you have the Spirit of God living in your body?

It is very clear in 1st Corinthians 6:19 that the Holy Spirit lives in us. What? Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and you are not your own?

Friends Jesus died for the sins of the world. His blood was shed for our sins one time, he is only going to be crucified once and the next time he comes he is coming for those that have truly been washed in the blood of Christ. He is coming as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

If you can remember a time and place that Jesus come into your heart and cleansed you from your sins thank him for it and lets live our lives trying to please him and win others to Christ while there is time.

Please don't let people get you involved in wondering if you can be lost after you are saved. Recognize you are a new person in Christ. You know His Spirit lives in your heart, praise Him for His eternal salvation for the salvation that we have comes to us as the unmerited grace of God. For by grace are you saved through faith; not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.

It might be that you have never really been saved. You can be saved and be ready to go when he calls by simply asking Christ to come into your heart and save you.      Romans 10:13 tells us: for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  ( you will never regret the day you accept Christ as your savior )
