BY FAITH

Hebrews 11:1-3

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

For by it the elders obtained a good report, through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the  word of God.

When you hear the word faith, what comes to mind?

Do you think of great events happening, or do you think of someone long ago living a great life?

The 11th chapter of Hebrews is commonly known as the faith chapter.

There are many of the old saints mentioned as to how they lived by faith.

There are several people of the Bible, both Old and New Testament people that lead a life of faith.

The book of Genesis 17:19 tells us about a man we call the father  of the  faithful. We know him as Abraham, he believed God. When Abraham was 100 years old and his wife Sarah was 90 years old, there was a baby boy named Isaac born to them because of faith. ( Faith is believing it will happen. )

I believe that Noah in Genesis 6:1-22 was a man of faith. God told him to build an Ark and he started to work. There had never been any rain before, but God said build an Ark three stories high,  450 feet long 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Noah had never seen an Ark before, but he obeyed what God said to do and when the time come I'm sure Noah and his family were glad they listened to the Lord.

Friends God gave adequate time to prepare and the rains come as He said it would.

Today you and I have been given time to prepare to leave this world, are we using that time wisely?

Joseph was a man of faith, he believed that Israel was going to be delivered from the slavery that the Egyptians had them under. He believed that some day they would return to the promised land and in Genesis 50:24-26 he told his brothers when they went back to the promised  land to carry his bones back with them.

Each time we find faith in action, there is one person doing what God said to do.

There are some great acts of faith in the New Testament.

Mark Chapter 5 has two wonderful acts of faith.

A man named Ja-i-rus had a little girl at the point of death. He come to Jesus and said, My daughter is at the point of death, I pray thee come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

And Jesus went  with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

A certain woman, which had an issue of blood for twelve years had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all she had, and was nothing better, but grew worse.

When she heard of Jesus, she came behind him, and touched the border of his garment and immediately her issue of blood was stopped. for she had said if I may but touch the hem of his garment , I shall be made whole. This woman was instantly healed, for her faith brought results.

Jusus ask in Mark 5:30; who touched my clothes, the woman fearing and trembling said it was her  who touched him and some of the most beautiful words were spoken in  Mark 5:34; Daughter thy faith hath made you whole; go in peace and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 8:46 tells us; for I  perceived that  virtue ( strength or healing power ) is gone out of me. The energy from Jesus body give her healing for her body. Praise the Lord.
